Feel free to call me "Shu", or 潘姝童 if you're a fellow Mandarin speaker :)
I am a product designer based in Boston, MA recently graduating from the Industrial Design program at Rhode Island School of Design.
Today, I am a user experience designer and researcher in the medical technology space previously supporting products with Johnson & Johnson Robotics, Roche Diagnostics and Foundation Medicine. I am professionally familiar with the FDA/ISO/IED human factors guidelines and the general Research & Development processes.
Fun Fact: my spirit font is Montserrat Alternates, because the upper case "E" is exactly like my handwriting (a backwards 3)!
My next step is to gain experiences in a range of industries including healthcare, consumer tech, education, and financial technologies. Please shoot me a quick email or contact me on LinkedIn if you want to work together!
My Take on Design ...
I concluded a set of metrics that measure success of my own design works. These are derived from the work from great designers I admire, and from my daily design practices.
Good Designs should be functional — these are products that nicely perform their designated functions. Nothing more, nothing less.
Great Designs should be accessible — these products consider users from all ability and knowledge levels, and take empathy to their fullest.
The Best Designs should be emotional — best designs are those that provoke emotion, like your comfort blanket.

Information is Beautiful by David McCandeless
Facts, statistics, issues, theories, relationships, numbers, words - there is just too much information in the world. We need a brand new way to take it all in. 'Information is Beautiful' transforms the ideas surrounding and swamping us into graphs and maps that anyone can follow at a single glance.
